1. Welcome to OuiAmi

OuiAmi (pronounced "we-ah-me") is a peer-to-peer sharing marketplace built on trust. Whether you want to share a boat, rent a tool, carpool to work, or borrow a camping tent, OuiAmi connects you with verified people nearby through cryptographic trust verification.

Unlike traditional marketplaces, OuiAmi doesn’t just rely on star ratings. Every user is verified through our patent-pending ELAI (Entity-Level Authentication Infrastructure) system, which creates a chain of trust between real people with real identities.

What Makes OuiAmi Different

Supported Asset Types

OuiAmi supports sharing across 12 categories, including vehicles, watercraft, power sports, RVs and campers, tools and equipment, electronics, outdoor and sports gear, musical instruments, property and spaces, clothing and accessories, party and event supplies, and more.

2. Getting Started

Creating Your Account

Your First Steps

After creating your account, we recommend completing these steps in order:

3. Your Dashboard

The Dashboard is your home base on OuiAmi. It shows your trust score, recent activity, and quick access to all platform features.

Dashboard Elements

Trust Score — Your numerical trust rating from 0–100, displayed prominently at the top. This score reflects your verification status, connections, and transaction history.

Stats — Quick counts of your active shares, listings, and reviews at a glance.

Navigation — The top bar provides access to Home, Dashboard, Browse, My Listings, Activity, and Messages from any page.

Notification Bell — The bell icon shows a badge count of unread notifications. Click it to see booking requests, payment confirmations, messages, and trust updates. You’ll hear a two-tone chime when new notifications arrive. OuiAmi also supports desktop notifications — when you’re on another tab or have the browser minimized, you’ll see a pop-up alert for new messages, bookings, and transaction updates. Your browser will ask for permission on your first visit; click Allow to enable them.

4. Trust & Verification

Trust is the foundation of OuiAmi. Our three-tier safety system ensures every interaction happens between verified people.

Trust Levels

Trust Score (0–100)

Your trust score is calculated from multiple factors:

Trust Connections (Gates)

A gate is a verified trust connection between two users. When you connect with someone you know and trust, both parties’ trust scores increase. Gates are displayed as:

To establish a gate, navigate to Networks, find the person you want to connect with, and send a trust connection request. Once both parties confirm, the gate is activated.

ELAI Cryptographic Verification

ELAI (Entity-Level Authentication Infrastructure) is OuiAmi’s patent-pending trust verification system. It creates a unique cryptographic hash for each user based on their verified identity and trust connections. This hash is used during transactions to verify both parties without exposing personal information.

5. Sharing & Listings

Creating a Listing

Managing Your Listings

From the My Listings page, you can:

Your listings appear in the Browse page for other verified users to discover. Listings show your trust score and verification status to potential renters.

Browsing Listings

The Browse page shows all active listings from verified users. You can filter by category, location, and price range. Click any listing to see full details, photos, owner information, and reviews before booking.

6. Booking & Payments

How Booking Works

OuiAmi uses a secure booking flow with built-in protections for both owners and renters:

Payments

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. OuiAmi charges a small platform fee (10%) which is deducted from the owner’s payout. Renters pay the full listed price.

Secure Handoff Codes

When a booking is confirmed and paid, OuiAmi generates a unique handoff code (e.g., 7SATJTGV). Both the owner and renter see this code. At the physical meeting, both parties present the code to verify the transaction is legitimate. This prevents fraud and ensures both sides are protected.

7. Messaging

OuiAmi includes built-in direct messaging so you can communicate with owners, renters, and trust connections without sharing personal contact information.

8. Activity & Reviews

Activity Page

The Activity page tracks all your booking activity across three tabs:

Each booking card shows the item, dates, total cost, payout amount, verification status, and current status (pending, confirmed, active, completed).

Leaving Reviews

After a booking is completed, both parties can leave reviews. Reviews include a 1–5 star rating and an optional written comment. Your review appears on the booking card and contributes to the other user’s trust score.

Reviews are tied to the transaction record and cannot be edited once submitted. If you’ve already reviewed a transaction, the stars and your comment will display in place of the review button.

9. Ami — Your AI Assistant

Ami is OuiAmi’s built-in AI assistant, powered by Claude. Ami can help you with questions about the platform, guide you through processes, and provide personalized recommendations.

What Ami Can Help With

Using Ami

Navigate to the Ami page from the top navigation bar. Type your question and press Send. Ami responds in real-time with helpful, context-aware guidance.

Voice Conversation Mode

Ami supports full voice conversations. In the input bar, you’ll see three buttons:

You can also type messages normally while Voice Mode is off — if the speaker is toggled on, Ami will still read her replies aloud.

10. Networks & Groups

Trust Networks

Your trust network is the collection of people you’ve established verified connections (gates) with. A stronger network means a higher trust score and more opportunities to share.

NewT Groups (New Trust)

NewT groups are community-based trust circles. When you join a group, you gain access to shared listings within that group and can establish trust connections more easily with other members.

Groups can be based on neighborhoods, workplaces, military units, churches, schools, or any other community with shared trust.

11. Settings & Profile

Editing Your Profile

Keep your profile up to date to maintain trust with other users. You can update your name, photo, location, and military status from the Settings page.

13. Troubleshooting & FAQ

I can’t find the Sign Up button.

The Sign Up button is in the top navigation bar on the landing page. On mobile, you may need to tap the menu icon (hamburger) to see it.

My listing didn’t save.

If your listing fails to save, check that all required fields are filled in and that your photos loaded completely. The form will stay open with your data preserved if there’s an error — check the error message at the top of the screen.

I’m not getting notifications.

Make sure you’ve interacted with the page (clicked or tapped) at least once — browsers require user interaction before playing sounds. Notification polling checks for updates every 5 seconds.

The other user shows “❌ Unverified.”

This means you don’t have a direct trust connection (gate) with that user. You can still transact, but consider establishing a trust connection first for additional security.

How do I get a higher trust score?

Complete your verification, establish trust connections with people you know, complete successful transactions, and maintain good reviews. Military verification provides a bonus.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes. Pending bookings can be cancelled from the Activity page. Refund policies depend on the booking status and timing.

Who do I contact for help?

Start with Ami — the AI assistant can answer most questions instantly. For issues Ami can’t resolve, contact support through the platform.
